Knowing Gregorian Chant 2.0

Speaker: Felix Yeung

‘The Church acknowledges Gregorian Chant as specially suited to the Roman liturgy: therefore, other things being equal, it should be given pride of place in liturgical services.’ As the constitution on sacred liturgy from Vatican II praised Gregorian Chant, these mesmerising melodies transcend time and space, and bring us in communion with all the faithful people who have been praising God in one voice in the past centuries. Felix Yeung, Provincial Music Director of the Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui, will reveal the different historical stages of chant notation. Attendees will be able to sing chants and bring them home!

The talks under HymnFest are free and are limited to 4 tickets per person per talk. Register for tickets via this QR code.
